ISO 20121 CERTIFICATION SUPPORT

ISO 20121 certification for event organizers, venues and suppliers

Exhibitions, conferences, concerts and sporting events create waste, travel, noise and a lot of pressure on local communities. Clients and sponsors are starting to ask what you’re doing about it.

ISO 20121 gives you a system for planning events with those effects in mind. We help you build it and certify it.

What the standard asks of you

It isn’t a checklist of green tips. It’s a management system: you work out which impacts matter for your events, set objectives, involve suppliers and stakeholders, and keep improving.

The 2024 edition added more on human rights, inclusion and the legacy an event leaves behind, along with climate and supply chain issues.

What you get out of it

How we take you to certification

  1. Scope. Which events, venues and services are covered.
  2. Gap analysis. Current practice against ISO 20121:2024.
  3. Impact and stakeholder review. What matters most for your type of event.
  4. Objectives, procurement and processes. Simple rules your team can actually follow.
  5. Training. Event managers and suppliers.
  6. Internal audit and management review. Rehearsal.
  7. Certification audit. With an accredited certification body.

Current edition

ISO 20121:2024 is the second edition and replaces the 2012 version. Certification bodies are moving existing clients to the new text, with transition periods set by accreditation bodies.
